Care Control looks at the number of days that are left in the holiday year at 5.6wk pro rota.

If you calculate the number of contracted hours per week by 5.6wks (which is what the GOV says is the legal minimum requirement) this gives you the hours entitlement.

The GOV website does not base on number of days, it basis it on the month left i.e. if you start on the 1st of the month 6 months into the holiday year, it will calculate at 6 months holiday entitlement.  If a staff member starts part way through the month they still get the same entitlement as someone as starts at the beginning of the month.  If you start on the last day of the month it will also give you the same entitlement as a person starting on the 1st of the month.

From a business point of view, Care Control is fairer to both parties.

THE GOV WEBSITE CACULATES HOLIDAY FROM THE 1ST OF THE MONTH REGARDS OF THE START DATE THAT YOU PUT IN.
